The singer Manuel Angel Mart, leader of the band “Lineage“and son of Manuel Martínez, singer of”Medina Azahara“He has died at the age of 44 as a result of a cancer that was diagnosed in 2014 and that he has not managed to overcome, sources close to the Cordovan formation have confirmed to Efe.

Mart had just presented a few days ago “Despite“, the first single from” Tierra y Fe “, his first solo album, which can already be heard since last October 20 through digital platforms and which he himself described through social networks as the project musical “more personal, intimate and introspective” of their life.

Son of Manuel Martinez Pradas, leader and vocalist of “Medina Azahara”, one of the most emblematic bands of the so-called Andalusian rock, Manuel Ángel Mart (Córdoba, 1976) also decided to dedicate himself to music and at only 22 years old he founded “Estirpe” together with Loren Gómez, Paco Records Jr and Miguel Fuentes.

Although their hallmark was always that of rock, throughout the 20 years they were on stage and eight discs published, this Cordovan group dared to play various styles, daring almost everything, from touches of classical music, to Funk, Reggae, Jazz, Latin and even electronic music.

In 2017 they decided to say goodbye to their audience with a concert in the hall Joy Eslava from Madrid, although three years before Mart announced to his followers through social networks that he had been diagnosed with cancer and that he had had to undergo emergency surgery for one “major digestive obstruction“.

Since then and until now he had not stopped working on musical projects, as shown by the number of publications on his Facebook, Twitter and Instagram profiles, where Mart was very active and where just 10 days ago he gave the news of the publication “In spite of “, his first single from his first solo work,”Earth and Faith“.

But aware that his state of health had also worsened in recent weeks, he had decided to delegate all the work of communication, promotion, editing and future publications to “Infarto Producciones”.

“I have been working very hard in recent years, to be able to carry out the most personal, intimate and introspective project of my life and right now, with all that work completed, I see myself in circumstances in which I feel that I must give the relief to people of my full confidence so that they can bring to light the result, “said Mart in one of his latest messages on networks.
