The Gernikarra composer Aitor Etxebarria will present the symphonic work on June 30 at the Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao “Gernika 85.”“his most personal and risky project, the largest to date”.
Etxebarria, with a long and successful previous career in electronic music under the name of El Txef-A, will thus pay tribute to his hometown, on the 85th anniversary of the heinous crime of which his civil society was a victim.
Aitor Etxebarria, who will be in charge of the piano and electronic instruments, will have at his side for the occasion the collaboration of the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra conducted by Mikel Fernandez, the percussionist Evelyn Glennie and the Gernika Gaudeamus Korala choir.
“Gernika 85.” it is the first symphonic work of the musician, and is composed of four movements. In addition, during the recital the testimonies of different victims of the bombing collected by the Gogora Institute will be screened.
Tickets for the concert on June 30 will go on sale on the Palacio Euskalduna website.
