According to “Gazeta Wyborcza”, during the Sunday mass for children in the church of st. Anna in Łazarz in Poznań, the priest raised the subject of the situation in Ukraine. – Children, how did you hear about the war in Ukraine? the priest was about to ask. In response, one of the girls mentioned the name of TVN, to which the priest immediately responded. – Do you watch such TV? I only watch Polish and only listen to Polish radio – said the clergyman, quoted by “Gazeta Wyborcza”.

As the witnesses report, the priest returned to the subject once more, this time addressing all the faithful gathered in the church. – Remember, watch only Polish TV – said the clergyman as he finished his sermon.
His statement outraged the mass attendees. – This is not a PiS meeting, but a holy mass for children! one of the men reminded him, admonishing the priest loudly, for which he received a thunderous applause from the rest of the faithful. Some of them also decided to show their dissatisfaction by leaving the church.
Fr. Tadeusz Magas, who celebrated the said mass, in an interview with “Gazeta Wyborcza”, however, stated that there was nothing inappropriate in his statement, because – as he argued – he did not judge the girl’s statement, but only emphasized that he was watching Polish TV.
