The news of Jan Hryniak’s death was provided by Filmpolski.pl. On the director’s Facebook he said goodbye to, among others Modest Ruciński. “Janek, it was great conversations about cinema, about acting, about the world and about the ideas of telling about it, there were ideas for scripts … and we agreed to make a film together. We will do it, but not here. It will be something. Full understanding, freedom creative, sense of humor, peace and joy of work … and breaks. Jan Hryniak is dead. He made movies and series

Jan Hryniak was born on May 12, 1969 in Warsaw. Before graduating from the Łódź Film School, he studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology. After making a few school etudes, he made his debut with the film “Przystań” in 1997. Three years later he directed the documentary “Elżbieta Chojnacka. Harpsichordist”. The next items in his filmography are “The Third” (2004), “Trick” (2010, series version from 2012) and the series “Sama Sweet” (2014), “Czas honoru. Powstanie” (2014) and “Miasto długów” ( 2019-20). “Time of honor. Uprising” brought Hryniak the Eagle – the Polish Film Award for the best film series. The director also worked on the film “Kantor. I Will Never Come Again” starring Borys Szyc, which, despite several years of efforts, could not be completed.

In 2020, the most famous film by Jan Hryniak, “Zenek”, was released, telling the life story of disco polo singer Zenek Martyniuk. The biography, commissioned by TVP, met with a wide response not only in Poland, but also in Europe. – I had the pleasure to see all the material. (…) Mr. director Jan Hryniak wanted to preserve the atmosphere of the 1980s and 1990s based on my person, and this is interesting – Martyniuk spoke about the film right after the first screening.
