For the first time in its 36 editions, the Goya Awards will be held in Valencia this Saturday, as part of the tribute from the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences to the centenary of Luis García Berlanga.
The Goya Awards this Saturday distribute a total of 28 awards, divided into as many categories, to which two Goyas are added, already with names and surnames: that of Honorfor Joseph Sacristanand the new Goya Internationalwhich has fallen to the Australian actress Cate Blanchett.
The great favorite of this edition is the tape ‘The Good Boss’which has received 20 nominations, thus becoming the film with the most nominations in the history of the awards, surpassing ‘Numbered Days’, which received 19 nominations 28 years ago.
In fact, the film by Fernando León de Aranoa opt to win in all major categories and it is only exempt from those in which it cannot be nominated as Best Documentary, Animated Film, Short and Animated Short, New Direction, Adapted Screenplay and Song.
Despite the nominations, you can only take up to 16 bobbleheads and that is there are categories in which several of its actors compete against each other. It has three nominees out of four possible for supporting actor: Celso Bugallo, Manolo Solo and Fernando Albizu, and two for revelation actor: Óscar de la Fuente and Tarik Rmili.
