In the Kaluga region, a ban is introduced on attracting foreigners on patents in the areas of trade, passenger transportation, recruitment agencies and public catering. This was announced in the Telegram channel by the governor of the region Vladimir Shapsha.

“We decided to introduce a ban on attracting foreigners on patents in the following areas of the economy: trade, passenger transportation, recruitment agencies and public catering. Employers will have three months to resolve this issue with employees.

Also, the region will withdraw from the program to assist voluntary resettlement to Russia of compatriots living abroad. Now migrants arriving in the region will not be able to obtain citizenship in a simplified manner.

Another solution concerning migrants is as follows. All documents from migrants who, in fact, do not know Russian, but provide fake certificates, will be sent by the migration center to the internal affairs bodies for verification. The fact is that before that, Shapsha visited a multifunctional migration center in the Borovsky district of the city and talked with a migrant who received a certificate of knowledge of the language, but did not speak Russian.

“He didn’t understand what I was asking him at all! In Russian, no belmes! added the official.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kaluga Region, cited by TASS, over the past year, the police made 113 decisions to deport foreigners who were released from places of detention and received negative characteristics from the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. Another 23 migrants were recognized as a threat to national security.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation recorded an increase in crimes by visitors from other countries last year by 5.9% – 36.4 thousand crimes were committed by foreign citizens and stateless persons, which is 5.9% more than in January-December 2020. At the same time, 78.3% were made by people from the CIS countries. Immigrants from Ukraine are not included in this category.
