Eurovision 2022. Who is Krystian Ochman? The singer has a chance to represent Poland

On February 19, Krystian Ochman will take part in the preselection until 2022, which will be held in Turin this year. The 22-year-old will compete with Daria Marcinkowska and Anna Byrcyn for the opportunity to represent Poland in the competition. What should we know about Ochman?

Who is Krystian Ochman?

Krystian Ochman is privately the grandson of the famous tenor Wiesław Ochman. He was born in the United States and grew up near Washington, DC, where his parents settled. In high school, he took up singing, learned to play the piano and trumpet. He also took up studies at the Academy of Music in Katowice in the class of classical singing.

The vocalist became famous thanks to the program The Voice of Poland. In 2020, Ochman took part in the auditions for the 11th edition of the program and joined Michał Szpak’s team. He managed to reach the final and won. After the program, he released his debut single “Światłocienie”.

The singer also won the 58th National Festival of Polish Song, performing the song “Prometheusz”. In the Polish qualifiers for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 Ochman will perform the song “River”

Eurovision 2022 – list of Polish candidates

The Polish representative will be selected after the concert and voting on February 19. The final is scheduled for May 10, 12 and 14, 2022 and is to be held at the PalaOlimpico in Turin. Ten candidates will take part in the preselection for Eurovision:

  • Umute with the song “Louder than decibels”;
  • Karolina Stanisławczyk with the song “Move”;
  • Emila Dębska with the song “All I Need”;
  • Daria with the song “Paranoia”;
  • Krystian Ochman with the song “River”;
  • Lidia Kopania with the song “Why Does It Hurt”;
  • Kuba Szmajkowski with the song “Love Sick”;
  • Karolina Lizer with the song “Czysta Woda”;
  • The Nobility Sisters with the song “Drogowskazy”;
  • Ania Byrcyn with the song “Where to?”.
