Netflix with the Łódź film is taking under the wings of young and talented people. “It’s not a one-time initiative”

– We are very happy to start cooperation with the Film School in Łódź. It is one of the world’s leading film schools, which also has a significant impact on the entire audiovisual industry in Poland. It is here that Polish film talents are born and shaped. Through activities included in the wider Grow Creative program, we want to support the artistic and professional development of talented students and provide them with the best possible start in a professional career – comments Christopher Mack, director of the Grow Creative program at Netflix and emphasizes that “this is not a one-time initiative, but the beginning of a long-term investment in relations with the Film School in Łódź and, therefore, in the future of the Polish film and television industry “.

– In the education program of the Film School in Łódź, we focus both on the development of sensitivity, talent and creative individuality, as well as on perfect mastery of the workshop or knowledge of the realities of work in professional cinematography and the audiovisual industry. In order to achieve the last of the learning objectives mentioned, it is important to cooperate with entities that have been successfully operating in the industry for years. That is why we are pleased with the prospect of cooperation with Netflix, which will enrich the educational offer of the School and enable the acquisition of extra-curricular knowledge about the development of film and series projects as well as technological and organizational standards of professional production. Such skills directly translate into an increase in professional competences and increasing the chances of our graduates to build a professional career and their own artistic path – says the rector of the Film School in Łódź, Dr. Milenia Fiedler.

The cooperation was initiated by two-day workshops, during which participants had the opportunity to hear about the art of storytelling, specific rules of production and financing or post-production, as well as learn the secrets of the process of acquiring titles for Netflix. The film industry announces that “this is the first of the planned activities that will support young talents in creative work and creating engaging film and series projects, so that audiences from all over the world will be delighted with them”.
