The player from Independiente del Valle will initially join the subsidiary of the Dutch team.
Ajax announced on Friday the incorporation of Ecuadorian Patrickson Delgado, from Independiente del Valle, as player on loan with option to buy until June 2023.
The 18-year-old midfielder, born in Ibarra, will initially join the Amsterdam side, the club said in a statement, adding that the deal “is subject to some formalities”.
Delgado has not yet been presented in the Dutch capital, because he is currently in Ecuador, and makes the leap to the Old Continent after having passed through the U-17 team of his country.
According to records from the Ecuadorian Football Federation, the player from Ibarra played 13 games with Independiente Jrs. in the LigaPro Series B 2021.
Delgado trained at Independiente del Valle and made his debut in the first category (series B) in 2020, with the subsidiary team.
