Harry and Meghan have a contract with Spotify for which they had to create content; to date, they have only published one podcast

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex committed to the platform, for 24 million dollars, to release a series of radio programs throughout 2021.

Spotify is hiring outside professionals to drive the content creation with Prince Harry of England and his wife, Meghan Markle, after the couple has only published a podcast after signing a contract of more than 24 million dollars.

In december 2020, the company announced an exclusive agreement with the dukes of sussex to launch a series of radio programs throughout 2021, but finally they only published a 34 minute Christmas special (below, in English).

That one show featured guests like Mr. chef José Andrés, comedian James Corden, musician Elton John and tennis player Naomi Osaka, who discussed how to deal with the pandemic and shared several personal anecdotes.

Even though the podcast ended with a promise to launch more programs in the next few weeks, these never arrived.

More than a year after the millionaire agreement, Spotify decided to take the reins of the project and published two job offers in which look for professionals to carry out more deliveries.

“We are building a team that will create and launch a new original show with Archewell (producer of Harry and Meghan) and will feature the voices of high-profile women”, details one of the job offers published by Gimlet, a radio studio that Spotify bought in 2019.

In spite of the lack of productivity, Spotify has promoted in style its contract with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who came to speak at a company event last February from their home in California.

According The Mercury News, the local newspaper of San José (California), Netflix would also be waiting for content from the couple. In April of last year, Markle and Harry announced the documentary series Heart of Invictuswhat was going to be the first project for Netflix of his audiovisual company, Archewell Productions, with which he also signed another agreement.

But while waiting for the completion of the series, Netflix has begun to hire staff to release others. stalled projects along with producer Archewell.
