Zendaya mourns the death of singer Ronnie Spector, whom she will play in a movie

Spector personally cast Zendaya in the role.

After knowing the death of the rock and roll singer Ronnie Spector, lead singer of The Ronettes, actress zendaya, who will represent her in the cinema, presented a tribute on her Instagram account.

“This news breaks my heart. Talking about her like she’s no longer with us feels strange., she who is so incredibly full of life, ”wrote the star of Euphoria last Thursday.

“There’s not a moment I’ve seen her without her red lipstick and tousled hair, a true star of the rock from beginning to end. Ronnie, getting to know you has been one of the greatest honors of my life.”

Zendaya went on to thank the legendary singer for her “unwavering love of the stage, strength, resilience, and grace,” and wished everyone could have known her like she did. She concluded by saying, “I hope you are proud of me.”

Ronnie Spector, founder of the group The Ronettes, with whom he published several hits in the 1960s, died on January 12 after a short fight against cancer. He was 78 years old.

Zendaya will play her in a biopic that will follow the early years of Spector’s career and the formation of The Ronettes. Ronnie Spector personally selected Zendaya for that role, as she was the executive producer.
