Pedro Almodóvar, second Donostia Prize from Zinemaldia

Director, screenwriter and producer Pedro Almodóvar will receive one of the Donostia Awards at the 72nd edition of the San Sebastian International Film Festival on September 26.
The presentation of the honorary award, which recognizes the extraordinary contribution of the honoree to the world of cinema, will take place in the Kursaal Auditorium prior to the screening of his latest film, The room next door.
The film, which will compete for the Golden Lion at the upcoming Venice Film Festival, stars Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore. It will be Swinton who will present the award on stage.
This is the second Donostia Award announced by the Zinemaldia this year, after the award to Australian actress Cate Blanchett, who is also the star of this year’s official poster.
