In Poland, a new thriller is a Netflix hit. Not everyone liked it. “Cruelty Repulsed Me”

The new Netflix series, which became a hit in Poland in a few days, has divided viewers. Some say it is a must-see, while others write that the cruelty shown on screen has turned them off.

July 18th saw the release of a new seven-episode thriller straight from Thailand. In less than a week, “Pan domu” became the most watched series in Poland and beat the new season of “Gangu Zielonyj Glowiczki”, the series “Cobra Kai”, “Vikingowie. Valhalla” and the popular show “Too Hot to Handle” in the TOP10 ranking.

“Pan Domu” is a hit on Polish Netflix. What is the series about?

The series begins with the death of diamond tycoon Roongroj. He dies mysteriously, and all eyes turn to his young wife and former maid Kaimook. The drama begins as Roongroj’s sons enter a bitter fight for their deceased father’s estate. “This mawkish — and spicy — thriller explores the conflict from the perspective of the harried servants, who have been repressing their frustration over years of mistreatment by the wealthy family — even as they help hide the dark secrets of their employers,” the series description reads.

The first ratings of the title can already be found online. On the IMDb portal, where international audiences review the works they have watched, “Pan Domu” received 6.5 out of 10 possible stars, on Filmeba, with the same rating scale, the film received 6.1 stars. In turn, on Rotten Tomatoes, the audience rated the series at 80%.

The thriller divided viewers. There are first opinions about “Mr. House”

“I watched it in one evening”, “what a satisfying ending”, “a must-see”, “a refreshing title compared to other Thai series” – write excited viewers. However, another group of viewers does not spare “Mr. House” bitter words. “A completely unrealistic series”, “the cruelty and misogyny turned me off”, “one of the worst series I have ever seen”, “weak acting and script” – write those dissatisfied with the screening.
