The Large Family Card was originally intended to be a convenience in the form of additional benefits for large families raising at least three children. In practice, it is available regardless of age. This means that seniors can also apply, and by showing the document, you can take advantage of various discounts.

The Large Family Card is accepted in many Polish sanatoriums and health resorts. Seniors, who can prove their worth with this document, can not only gain various discounts, but also take advantage of free tourist attractions. Here are the most popular health resorts where retirees can count on specific discounts.

1. Ciechocinek

• Spa Hospital No. IV: Spa House: 5% discount on stays and treatment packages for adults; 1 free entry to the Salt Mine Museum for people staying at PUC SA facilities; 1 free entry to the viewing terraces from 1 May to 30 September for people staying at PUC SA facilities.
• Health Resort “Krystynka”: 7% discount on rehabilitation and recreation stays of 7 days or longer; 7% discount on rehabilitation treatments.
• The John Paul II “Pod Tężniami” Spa Clinic Medical Services Cooperative in Ciechocinek: 50% discount on posture and foot examinations for children at the Research and Development Laboratory of the Movement System.
• 22nd Military Spa and Rehabilitation Hospital: 10 percent discount on diagnostic tests according to the price list for a given year; 5 percent discount on laboratory tests according to the price list for a given year; 5 percent discount on therapeutic procedures according to the price list for a given year; 10 percent discount on a fully paid stay according to the price list for a given year.

2. Busko Zdrój

• Sanatorium “Marconi” – Busko-Zdrój Health Resort: 20 percent discount on a family stay in a detached house; 20 percent discount on a therapeutic stay; 20 percent discount on additional treatments without a doctor’s prescription.

3. Kolobrzeg

• Health Resort “ORW KOŁOBRZEG-PODCZELE”: 15% discount on the BAR (Best Available Rate) price for accommodation and 15% on catering (excluding alcohol) for holders of the KDR in the facilities of Przedsiębiorstwo Usługowe “Holtur”.

4. Oaks

• ARGENTYT Interferie Spa Sanatorium (Rehabilitation and Recreation Services Office): 5% discount when purchasing a stay for at least 3 people, including children.

5. Jelenia Gora

• Cieplice Spa PAVILION EDWARD: 5% discount on all types of medical and health stays lasting at least 7 days.

6. Ustroń

• Tulipan Sanatorium Ustroń (Arka Vitae SA): 10 percent discount on the “Classic” sanatorium stay; 10 percent discount on the “With herbal treatment” sanatorium stay.

7. Krynica Zdrój

• Sanatorium on Kryniczanka: 6 percent discount for stays longer than 5 days.
• HAJDUCZEK Health Resort and Recreation Center: 5 percent discount on holiday stays (i.e. accommodation with breakfast and dinner) for at least 7 nights (8 days).
• Sanatorium Spa “Zgoda” Sp. z o. o.: 5% discount, which is calculated from the price of rehabilitation stays, week-long health holidays, week-long recreation stays.

8. Iwonicz-Zdrój

• Sanatorium Pod Jodła: 5 percent discount on accommodation, meals, pool treatments, souvenirs and spa cosmetics.
• Sanatorium No. IV: 5 percent discount for KDR holders on stay, meals, pool treatments, souvenirs and spa cosmetics.

9. Augustow

• Augustów Sanatorium “Palace on the Water” Falkowski: 5 percent discount on stays at the Augustów Sanatorium “Palace on the Water” Falkowski.

10. Duszniki-Zdrój

• Jan Kazimierz Center: 10 percent discount on accommodation and therapeutic stays.

How to apply for a Large Family Card for seniors?

To receive the Large Family Card, you must submit an application to the commune or MOPS in your place of residence. The second option is to submit an application electronically via the empatia.mpips.gov.pl system. In the application, you must provide your details, address of residence and children’s details. The document can be submitted by any adult family member. The card is issued within 30 days of submitting the application. The electronic document will be available in the application even if you applied for a physical form. In the event of loss of the card, a duplicate is issued for PLN 15, and an additional copy for PLN 10. In the case of parents, the card is valid for life.
