How to prepare a pickle brine? Temperature is key

Preparing pickled cucumbers is quite easy, although time-consuming, because they will be ready in about 3 weeks. Nevertheless, even beginners should be able to handle it. How to make them step by step?

  1. Divide the dill and horseradish into four equal parts and place them on the bottom of the jars.
  2. Then press the cucumbers into the jars. Try to fit as many as possible. Arrange them slightly at an angle and in layers.
  3. Prepare the marinade. This is the most important part of the job. Water for cucumbers should be well mineralized and hard, so it is necessary to boil it with salt. Per liter of liquid use 1 tablespoon of rock salt.
  4. Once the water boils, pour it into a cold container and wait until it cools down a bit. The key to success is brine at room temperature. Too high and the pickles will lose their flavor and many of their nutritional values.
  5. When the water is lukewarm, pour it over the cucumbers and seal tightly. They will be ready in about 2-3 weeks. If you’d like, please vote in our poll below.
