The recipe below will make 10-12 jars of 200 ml each.. There is no point in making them bigger, because they spoil quickly once opened. Prepare:

  • 2 kg of washed blueberries,
  • 1 kg of sugar,
  • juice of 2 lemons,
  • 1 liter of water.

Wash the berries under running water and drain thoroughly on paper towels. Remove any twigs and leaves. In a large pot, dissolve the sugar in the water, add the lemon juice and bring to a boil. Throw in the drained berries and cook, stirring constantly, for about 3 minutes. When the fruit is soft, fill the sterilized jars with it, leaving 1 cm of space at the top.. Clean the edges of the dishes and screw the lids on tightly. Place them in a large pot with a cloth-lined bottom and fill it all with water. When the water boils, pasteurize the preserves for 20 minutes. After this time, remove the jars and set aside to cool completely.

TIP! The syrup must cover all the fruit, so pay attention to this when filling the jars. Otherwise, the berries will spoil and will only be good for throwing away.
