The charity success of Radio 357. Journalists raised a record sum to help children

In the pre-Christmas period, the team organized collections for the Saint Nicholas Foundation, and as part of the campaigns, incl. Kuba Strzyczkowski conducted three auctions on the air. During one of them, caps signed by F1 champions were auctioned for a total amount of PLN 395,000, and the lucky benefactor paid nearly PLN 50,000 for a coffee meeting with Marek Niedźwiecki.

Record-breaking PLN 1.3 million from the listeners of Radio 357

Radio 357 already regularly cooperates with the Saint Nicholas Foundation. In order to support the charges of the foundation, apart from auctions conducted by Kuba Strzyczkowski, a fundraiser was also conducted with the use of SMS messages and payments to the foundation’s account. What is more, this year, auctions were also held on Allegro Charytatywni for the first time – the items were put up by journalists and listeners. Among other things, personalized programs or a report about the winner of the auction were auctioned. The highest price was reached for a coffee meeting, sold for almost PLN 50,000.

Izabela Stawicka from the Saint Nicholas Foundation emphasizes:

In Poland, many children struggle with a mental health crisis. Anxiety, stress, mood drops and addictions are just some of the alarming signals associated with it. Schools lack proper psychological care and financial barriers are very often insurmountable. In turn, up to 6 million children in Syria need immediate psychological help – they live in constant fear, war, violence, poverty, and sometimes in loneliness.

The auctions of Kuba Strzyczkowski were held on December 10, 17 and 23. The listeners were auctioning off the items donated by famous personalities from the world of music, art and sports. In the final auction, a record of the previous shares was broken – a set of caps with the signatures of Formula 1 drivers was auctioned for a total amount of PLN 395 thousand. Kuba Strzyczkowski comments:

When I heard that we have 55,000 for the caps, I thought it was a great result. It turned out that I underestimated the generosity of our listeners. It seemed to me that generosity and willingness to help have limits. But I was wrong. I believe that by such actions and the ability to share, we best show that Radio 357 as a project is much more than broadcasting a radio signal.

In total, the auctions conducted by Kuba Strzyczkowski brought PLN 885,818,000, the journalist’s auctions on Allegro PLN 123,924, and the listeners PLN 21,026. The SMSs managed to collect PLN 141,555, and the voluntary donations amounted to PLN 183,338. In total, therefore, it amounts to PLN 1,355,661.
