According to Gazeta Wyborcza, preparations have begun for the production of the film “Transatlantyk 2010”, the idea for which was born several years ago. The main plot thread is to be the story he invented to hide the real reason for his disappearance from his mother. It is no secret that Jadwiga Kaczyńska was hospitalized with pneumonia and sepsis a month before the disaster. he didn’t want to add to her worries, so he didn’t tell her about his brother’s death, explaining that he and the entire delegation were on a cruise from Brazil to Poland.
It is worth mentioning that at that time there were a series of volcanic eruptions in Iceland, which made his version credible, as at that time the media reported flights being canceled due to the volcanic fog persisting over Europe. Ultimately, she learned about her son’s death only a month and a half later. – We are not erecting a monument to Jarosław Kaczyński, but we are not creating a pastiche either. We don’t judge characters. We want this story to have a deeper meaning, said the producer and originator of the film, Łukasz Skrzypek.

One of the inspirations for the production was Sara Różewicz (an artistic pseudonym of a famous writer) with the same title, published by the IPLEX Pictures LTD publishing house, owned by Skrzypek. At the same time as the book, a script was created, and Zuzanna Bukłaha and Piotr Rogoża were responsible for its implementation. The direction was entrusted to Bartosz Kruhlik, winner of, among others, behind “Supernova” or “Hercules”, and the photos will be taken by Michał Dymek. So far, the cast is not known, only that the Kaczyński brothers will be portrayed on the screen. – The story of the Smolensk disaster and what happened after it is a dark fairy tale on the border between reality and dream – said the director in an interview with Wyborcza, adding that the plot will take place on two time planes. – From all this comes a dark portrait of a man full of extremes – he emphasized mysteriously. If the creators obtain funding from the Polish Film Institute, according to the plan, they are to submit the application in July, then work on the set will begin this year.
