Guttation is the secretion of drops of aqueous solutions of organic compounds and mineral salts. Drops appear on hydathodes, structures located at the ends of leaf blades. They are most often seen on the leaves of young strawberries, but also on other plants.
When does guttation occur? When a plant is exposed to large amounts of water in the soil and air, it must evaporate it in a different way.
