Figure skater Tuktamysheva: there is no confidence in the admission of Russians to the Winter Olympics 2026
Russian figure skater Elizaveta Tuktamysheva expressed doubt about the admission of Russians to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy. She is quoted by Sport Express.
“I used to be almost sure that in 2026 we would be allowed to participate in the Olympics in some format. But seeing what is happening with the Summer Games in Paris, I doubt that anything will change,” Tuktamysheva said. The figure skater added that she no longer experiences any strong emotions from what is happening.
On June 18, it became known that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) had set a deadline for submitting applications for the Olympics in Paris for Russians in neutral status. Several sports federations have received a letter from the IOC notifying them that the deadline for submitting applications is June 20.
On June 15, the IOC published a list of 14 Russians admitted to the 2024 Summer Games in Paris in neutral status. The list includes ten representatives of wrestling, including Shamil Mamedov and Arslan Bagaev, cyclists Tamara Dronova, Alena Ivanchenko, Alexander Vlasov, as well as Angela Bladtseva, who represents trampolining.
