In recent years, more and more people have two jobs at the same time. Their financial situation usually forces them to do so. How do they deal with it? Here are the stories of employees who decided on such a solution.

Ola* graduated from college three years ago. While completing her master’s degree, she started her first job. She is single and rents an apartment in Warsaw. And as she emphasizes, this huge expense prompted her to take up another job. If it weren’t for the additional income, she would have problems supporting herself. – Fortunately, I work remotely. But it’s still hard. I start my first job at six and finish it at four. At three o’clock I start another one. On Fridays, I’m usually exhausted and have no energy for anything, she reveals. – I think I will work like this for another two years at most. In the long run, this seems unrealistic to me, he adds.

Wojtek does not hide the fact that he would like to settle down very much. His goal was to buy his own apartment in GdaƄsk. He is an IT specialist and claims to earn PLN 25,000 a month. She is 26 years old. How is this possible? – I work in two foreign companies, I have B2B contracts and these companies do not know about each other – reveals our interlocutor.

When I ask if Wojtek works sixteen hours a day, I hear that he gets everything done in nine. – I have two laptops and two screens. I start my first job at eight and my second at nine. I finish at 5 p.m. – he reveals. – Of course, I work remotely – he emphasizes.

Wojtek claims that for him combining two jobs is not a problem. He is excellent at carrying out all his duties. – Even during camera calls, I have mastered the ability to do so setting up computers and muting speakers, that I can participate in two meetings at the same time. The only time I made a mistake was when I started presenting a report from another job. However, I quickly realized it and explained it somehow, he says.

Marta has similar experiences. She is 45 years old and an editor. In one of the editorial offices, she worked on one material a week. – I know it’s hard for younger journalists and editors to believe it. But such situations still happen sometimes, he says.

When it turned out that she could earn extra money by writing SEO texts for a certain company, she didn’t hesitate. – I earned little, it was a really solid support for my budget. It was 2021, prices were starting to get expensive in Poland, Marta recalls. And I emphasize, at that time she completed everything within eight hours. This arrangement suited her very well.

– However, my main editorial office was disbanded. So I had to look for a new job. Now I have so many responsibilities that I can’t do everything in eight hours and often work longer. I don’t even think about such additional earnings. It would be impossible, he sums up.
