It was the first and last time I was on all inclusive. Never again! I was embarrassed by all this

– This year, for the first time in my life, I went on an all-inclusive holiday. My husband and I decided that the May weekend would be a good time to check what it actually looks like. After a week on one of the Greek islands, I know one thing: we will definitely organize our long holiday on our own! – writes our reader Martyna in a letter sent to the editor.

The only advantage from my perspective of an all-inclusive holiday is access from the airport. I know from my own travels that sometimes it is very problematic and extremely stressful. Therefore, this solution provided me with great psychological comfort. However, I still believe that this type of holiday is not for everyone. Me and my husband were not satisfied after less than a week.

She went on an all-inclusive basis. “Such holidays are not for everyone”

Our first disappointment was the change of departure date. The flight was moved from morning to late afternoon. Because of this, we were there in the evening. Our original plan was to arrive after 10 a.m. This would give us an extra day. I know it wasn’t the organizer’s fault, but this event spoiled my mood from the very beginning. Besides, I knew from the beginning that we had lost a day.

Once there, I felt like I was at the Polish seaside. There were only Poles in our hotel! And no, I’m not a Polephobe. However, I hoped that during my holidays abroad I would be able to feel a more international atmosphere than on the Baltic Sea. I was surprised because it really didn’t even occur to me that hotels had this type of policy. I know English and Spanish, and during my trips abroad I like to improve my communication in these languages. Therefore, for me such a “Polish hotel” was definitely not a plus.

I was really embarrassed by this!

The food wasn’t outstanding. We regretted paying for this option. From the second day we ate at local pubs. And I think we felt best during these “escapes” outside the hotel. One day there was karaoke at the hotel. Our compatriots started choosing songs… disco polo. I was really embarrassed by this!

However, what irritated me the most was the issue of island tours. The office offered us some offers. They weren’t cheap, but we thought that was the price here. Fortunately, we postponed the reservation. When we went out that same day, it turned out that local travel agencies offered much cheaper trips. These prices shocked us! Some trips were almost twice as cheap!

I don’t think all-inclusive holidays are for everyone. If we want to escape a bit from the Polish atmosphere, it seems to me that this is not the best idea. But I’m glad I saw what it looks like. Now I know at least that I did the right thing by organizing trips on my own for years.
