Desperatesong from Motomami, the third studio album by Rosalia has been established on the Swedish music platform, Spotify with more than 1 billion listens. The song that was released on July 28, 2022, included in the deluxe edition of his third studio album Motomami+, published in September of this same year, is the most listened to on this platform by a Spanish artist.

The Catalan singer celebrates the great triumph with her followers: “I just found out that Desphá already has 1 billion plays and you are all to blame. Thank you for having listened to it and danced and enjoyed it so many times!!!! I hope life allows me to share many more songs,” Rosalía writes on Instagram.

The artist also adds that she is still working on the new album: “And I can only say that the wait will be worth it,” Rosalía confesses to the more than 5,000 comments that this publication already has.

As EFE points out, neither Alejandro Sanz, nor Enrique Iglesias nor Julio Iglesiasno other Spanish singer has so far managed to surpass one billion reproductions on Spotify (one billion, according to the short numbering scale used by English-speaking countries).

Only Quevedo from Madrid can boast of having achieved such a record with his song with the Argentine producer and composer Bizarrap ‘Bzrp Music Sessions, vol. 52’, which has accumulated more than 1.6 billion listens, but in this case thanks to the combined strength of both artists. Alone, only Rosalía.
