Beat drought in the garden. You will save plants from burning and diseases

Long periods without rain can pose challenges for the garden. That’s why we’re sharing with you tips for gardening during drought, as well as ways to plan a drought-resistant garden. It’s not difficult, but to have a beautiful garden, you have to devote time to it.

Some years bring heavy rainfall – usually just when we plan to fire up the barbecue! However, during extended periods of drought, there are many ways to conserve precious water while maintaining a healthy garden. We will tell you how to save your garden on hot days.

Water at the right times to protect the plants from burning

It is best to water the plants early in the morning or late in the evening, if it’s possible. If you water during the hottest time of the day, the water can evaporate quickly and dry out the flowers even more. Windy weather can also cause water to evaporate faster. A warm and windy day causes the soil to dry out faster.

Plants need water most at the roots, not on the leaves. Try to direct as much water as possible to the base of the plant. Another risk with water on leaves is that the leaves may become scorched by the sun when the water dries.

Stay on top of weeding to provide your plants with more water

A weed is simply any plant in a flower bed, border or pot that you did not intentionally plant and that you do not want. Weeds compete with crops for moisture, light and nutrients, so routine weeding helps ensure that water goes where it is needed most.
