Are troubadours record holders? The former team leader convinces. “No one repeated it”

Troubadours have been present on the Polish music scene for over 60 years. During this time, they played hundreds of concerts both in Poland and abroad. In a document devoted to the life and work of Krzysztof Krawczyk, Ryszard Poznakowski revealed that apparently in their heyday they even broke records and no one has managed to equal them so far.

The history dates back to 1963. It was then that Sławomir Kowalewski and , whom he knew from his school years, decided to create a big beat supergroup that was to change the face of Polish song. Shortly afterwards, Jerzy Krzemiński, Bogdan Borkowski and Marian Lichtman also joined the band, and they started working with them on their own repertoire.

Troubadours are Polish Beatles. The band won the hearts of listeners with these songs

Success came quite quickly, because two years later at Trubadurzy they sang the song “Przyjedź mamo na przysięże”, for which they received an award in the debut category. Their music, which is a combination of rock and roll with folk sounds, was immediately liked by the listeners, who even called them Polish. In 1968, the band made its debut on the recording market with the album “Krajobrazy”, which, for those times, sold in huge numbers, consolidating their position in the industry.

Although the group’s line-up changed several times over the years and the musicians suspended their activities, they still occupied a place among the “big four of Polish rock”. They released subsequent albums and promoted many timeless hits, such as “We Know Each Other Only By Sight”, “Ej Sobótka, Sobótka” or “Coż poznam o miłość”, which all of Poland knows and hums to this day.

In the TVP documentary film “Krzysztof Krawczyk, all my life”, who led the band in 1967 and led to its resurrection many years later, admitted that in their heyday they gave huge concerts.

At the same time, he revealed that in this way they apparently managed to break quite a record. – We hold the record for playing the largest number of concerts in one weekend – he revealed. – Namely, we played 6 on Saturday and 7 on Sunday.
