The Niebezpiecznik.pl portal reported yesterday (May 5) about a data leak from the Ticketmaster website, known around the world for selling tickets to sports and music events. The company has not yet issued an official statement on this matter. The portal referred to the content of the form submitted by the Live Nation corporation to the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
Ticketmaster leak. What to do if we used the website’s services?
According to the portal’s reports, the data of customers and portal employees allegedly fell into the wrong hands, i.e.: name and surname, e-mail address, residential address, telephone number, hash of the payment card number and the last 4 digits, as well as transaction history. The Credit Information Bureau provided information on what to do if you have purchased tickets through Ticketmaster in the past. “If you happen to buy tickets via Ticketmaster and you have a payment card connected there, remove it from the website. There is no need to block the card, as the disclosed data does not allow for unauthorized debiting,” we read in the message.
BIK also warns against contact attempts by fraudsters: “Since telephone, e-mail and address data have been leaked, fraudsters can use them for spoofing or phishing attacks, i.e. they can impersonate institutions, banks or offices and cleverly manipulate them to, for example, convince you to make a transfer or provide account login details. The Credit Information Bureau encourages you to be vigilant and share this information with people in your immediate environment.
