Coach Luciano Spalletti released this Thursday the final list of 26 players who will defend Italy in the European Championship. The coach cut four athletes who were on the provisional list, announced in May.
Spalletti decided to cut goalkeeper Ivan Provedel, from Lazio, defender Francesco Acerbi, from Inter Milan, full-back Riccardo Orsolini, from Bologna, and midfielder Samuele Ricci, from Torino. The other change to the provisional list was the replacement of the injured Giorgio Scalvini, from Atalanta, by Federico Gatti, defender from Juventus, announced last Monday.
Italy, current European Cup champion, is part of Group B along with Albania, Spain and Croatia. The debut will be on the 15th, at 4 pm (Brasília time), against the Albanians, at Signal Iduna Park.
Before that, the Italian team plays its last friendly, against Bosnia, this Sunday, at 3:45 pm, at the Carlo Castellani Stadium.
