EnergaCamerimage 2024. Cate Blanchett will come to Toruń
The Camerimage festival tends to use the knowledge and experience of not only Polish artists, but also those recognized around the world. The jury includes directors, actors, screenwriters and cinematographers from various countries, often participating in the creation of the best productions, awarded at the most important film festivals. This year, Cate Blanchett was the president of the jury.
Cate Blanchett is a unique artist who defies definition. He is an inspiration to people around the world, including some of today’s greatest artists. I am proud and happy that she accepted our invitation and agreed to become the head of this year’s jury in the main competition of the festival – said Marek Żydowicz, head of the EnergaCamerimage festival, in an interview with the “Hollywood Reporter”.
The actress herself also spoke and said about her role during the festival:
Movies are like fireflies caught in a bottle, and I have the honor of working with people who are the best at catching them – masters of cinema who have changed the way I work and the way I look at the world. Being at EnergaCamerimage was my dream, says Blanchett.
This year’s Camerimage festival will take place in Toruń on November 16-23. Cate Blanchett is not only one of the most recognizable and best cinema stars in the world. The actress has already chaired the jury of the Festival in Cannes and Venice. She is a two-time Oscar winner (“The Aviator”, “Blue Jasmine”), a four-time BAFTA and Golden Globe winner.
