Przemysław Czarnek, Robert Biedroń and Paweł Zalewski were guests of Bogdan Rymanowski in “Rymanowski’s Breakfast” on Polsat News. Politicians, in accordance with the rules of the program and the Polish political scene, argued on air. Paweł Zalewski left the studio, and Czarnek called Biedroń a “degenerate man”. He commented on the level of the debate on social media.
Maciej Orłości harshly about Przemysław Czarnek
rather than exchanging diverse opinions. It started with the topic of removing crosses in offices in Warsaw, which is supposed to be an element of the separation of church and state. However, this topic quickly turned to threads related to the LGBT community. Robert Biedroń accused Przemysław Czarnek of the so-called “LGBT-free zones”, to which the former Minister of Education stated (contrary to the facts) that nothing like this happened:
You’re lying. Mr. Staszewski lied, you lied shamelessly about Poland. Hands off Polish local governments. There have been and will not be such zones. Man, knock yourself on the head, there have never been LGBT-free zones in Poland – said Czarnek.
These words contradict court judgments that overturned such resolutions of local governments discriminating against LGBT people in their regions. However, Czarnek’s words were not explained by the host, but by Robert Biedroń:
Children in Poland who attempt suicide hear the former minister of education saying that they are not youth, but an ideology, this is complete degeneration – he said.
He didn’t have to wait long for Czarnek’s response. “Degenerate man, don’t lie!” – replied the former Minister of Education. Maciej Orło¶ reacted to these words:
Degenerate man – this is what former minister Carnek said to Robert Biedroń on Polsat. Well, really – a full-blown Catholic… What culture, manners and class. He’s not the only one in PiS, the journalist wrote on social media.
In reaction to the quarrel and “degeneracy” on the part of politicians, Paweł Zalewski left the Polsat studio. “Polarization in Poland has gone too far. I do not agree to offending people. I will not talk to people who do this,” he later wrote on Twitter.
