The girls prepared a gift for the birthday girl in the form of a cake. When they finished their meal, the waiter came to the table and asked the birthday girl if she would let him cut the cake. She nodded without hesitation. Then she was surprised when she got the bill.

The waiter took the cake to the kitchen and divided it into pieces. Then he returned to the room and handed a plate with cake to each party participant. The TikToker didn’t expect that she would have to pay extra for this service. She thought it was just a birthday favor. “I’ve never heard of anything like that. I thought they did it because they were nice,” she later explained.
Only on the bill did she see that cutting the cake cost her an additional $25, or about PLN 100. “It’s not even about the fact that I had to pay for it. The problem is that no one informed us what the price would be,” she added.

They cannot charge an additional fee without first providing information”, “They cannot charge for a cake they have not sold,” some wrote. Others, however, found the fee justified. “If you eat your own cake in a restaurant, you occupy a table for the next 45 minutes. The restaurant does not benefit from it,” “They brought you plates and forks. Then they will have to wash it off,” we read.
