Years go by and the vibe that ‘You give love a bad name’ has is permanent. And for permanent, that of Bon Jovi. For 40 years we have been dancing to the sounds of this band from New Jersey that was born from the desire of its vocalist, John Francis Bongiovi (that is his original name, the one he adapted to Jon Bon Jovi as his stage name), of being a rock star since he saw Bruce Springsteen live.

Apparently his mother wanted to have an artist son, but it wasn’t until she saw the ‘Boss’ (they are both from the area) that she made up her mind. She then began singing her covers in local bars until one night Springsteen came into one of them and started singing a duet. That night she changed his life and a friendship began between them that still endures.

Already being a band with Alec John Such, Tico Torres and Richie Sambora, they opened for ZZTop and Scorpions in Germany, where they say that the heavis who went to see the Scorpions did not receive them very well. And then came his debut in ’84 with ‘runway‘, a song that still remains an indisputable anthem today.

Personally, Jon Bon Jovi fulfilled the dream of being a music star and almost a movie star. He has participated in several series and films such as ‘Chain of favours‘in the year 2000 or the romantic comedy’Women under the moon‘ in 1995.

Just in the year 2000 they hooked a new generation thanks to ‘It’s my life‘ that song that became an immediate classic and that revitalized the band. And until today, in between controversies over Richie Sambora’s departureaddictions involved, an operation that almost left its singer without a voice in 2022 and now a documentary with the history of a band that, like rock, refuses to die.
