9to5Mac: Apple will release a foldable tablet in 2025, a foldable smartphone in 2026
Apple has planned to release the first devices with a folding display. This was reported by 9to5Mac with reference to Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu.
According to Pu, the company has significantly accelerated the development of foldable devices. The insider said that the first such device will be a folding tablet, the release of which is planned for 2025. The author also revealed the release dates for the folding iPhone – the device will appear at the end of 2026.
Jeff Pu noted that Apple has set up a supply chain of components for new gadgets. Thanks to this, it became possible to plan the release dates of the devices. According to the specialist, the company is considering two form factors for the first folding smartphone – with a 7.9-inch and 8.3-inch screen. For comparison, the current flagship iPhone 15 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch display.
Journalists from 9to5Mac said that Jeff Poo’s insider should be treated with some skepticism. According to them, the time frame described by the specialist is “incredibly aggressive” and has not been confirmed by other sources.
In early March, authoritative insider Ming-Chi Ko said that Apple had begun developing the first folding laptop. The active production phase of the device should begin in 2027.
