What books would we most like to read in 2023? According to , Poles, just like last year, were again most eager to read crime stories. Importantly, however, the study involved people over 15 years of age, so there was no young adult trend, i.e. novels for young people. The top ten was dominated by crime, romance, fantasy/sci-fi and non-fiction literature, i.e. journalism and biographies. Once again, Remigiusz Mróz took first place among the most read authors. and the respondents indicated that they were most likely to read his novels such as “Lights in the Ashes”, “The Specter of the Brocken”, “Kasacja”, “Behaviorist” and “Undiscovered”. For example, among bookstore bestsellers for 2023, the first four places are occupied books by Weronika Marczak from the “Monet Family” series. The novels arouse extreme emotions and parents are sounding the alarm, but it cannot be denied that records were broken. The book came in fifth place “Chłopki” by Joanna Kuciel-Frydryszak.
