Did you know that if you have an older toilet model, you flush up to 9 liters of water after each visit? On average, it will be as much as 54 liters in one day! Newer ones usually need about 3-4 liters. Nevertheless, the result is still alarming. Especially since we don’t always need that much. However, there are toilet models where such adjustment is significantly difficult or even impossible. An old, proven trick will help in this situation: you only need a half-liter bottle of water, preferably after bathing or cleaning. After all, it’s all about saving money, right? The whole philosophy is to put it in a container with a flush, but on the opposite side from the inlet. Then just close the container, drain the water and let the tank fill up. The presence of a full bottle will make him take in less water.

How to clean the inside of the cistern? Vinegar will help

If you want to save water, both for economic and ecological reasons, do not forget to clean the cistern regularly. Many people skip this element during thorough cleaning, but it is a mistake that can cost us dearly (literally!). Scale accumulating inside can damage the mechanism, and mold and bacteria often accumulate there. How to clean it? Drain the water, turn off the valve and pour hot (but not boiling!) water into it to the height of about 2/3. Wait a while until it cools down, then add up to 300 ml (or a dishwasher tablet) and leave for at least an hour. The greater the contamination, the more time you will need.
