How to effectively protect your bicycle against theft? Contrary to appearances, it is not that simple, because thieves keep coming up with new methods. This does not mean, however, that we have to accept the fact that someone will appropriate our equipment. There are several methods that significantly reduce this risk.

Using a bike is not only an interesting way to spend a free day, saving time when you don’t have to stand in traffic jams, but also taking care of your health. Unfortunately, while resting or working, when we leave it pinned in plain view, there is a risk that someone will try to use it. That is why it is so important to ensure its safety. How? First of all, do not leave your bike anywhere, but only in places intended for this purpose, preferably monitored or protected. Whenever you can, keep an eye on it, for example, place it opposite the window of the room where you work. This will allow you to react quickly if someone starts hanging around him. What else?

What is worth buying? – A powerful clasp can effectively deter a thief, he admitted. If you don’t want someone to take your bike, it’s worth getting a really good and thick security device that will take more than a few minutes to break through. While traditional plastic lines can be easily overloaded with small scissors, this is not so easy with high-quality steel lines. Often, the mere sight of this type of security makes a thief give up. A steering wheel lock will also work.

There is also a chance to mark your bike and register it with the police. As we can read on the website, the whole procedure involves engraving a special marking, most often on the frame of the bike, and handing the owner a “registration certificate”. This is nothing more than a confirmation that his bike has been registered. Thanks to this, even if it is stolen, there is a greater chance that it will be returned to it.
