Hydrangeas delight with their size and multicolor. In many gardens they are located in a central place to please the eyes of as many people as possible. The thing about them is that they are simply beautiful throughout the entire season – from June to October and even longer. All because they bloom very gracefully. It happens that in the meantime they change colors, e.g. from green to white. And when autumn comes and they dry, the reddish-brown colors also look attractive.
Why do hydrangeas break?
Many people think that growing hydrangeas is difficult, but this is not entirely true. If we take care of the appropriate position, soil, pruning and watering, hydrangeas will reward us with densely growing, colorful flowers. The growing conditions of hydrangea depend on its species, so it is worth familiarizing yourself with them in advance.
However, even when we huff and blow on our hydrangeas, sometimes they cause problems. A common problem for gardeners is that flowers do not always survive until autumn. Why do hydrangeas break? The main culprit here is gravity. Hydrangeas produce heavy, fleshy flowers mounted on thin stems. No wonder they sometimes break. Especially when they are not properly nourished and are too weak.
The gardener revealed a trick for hydrangeas. Do this and they won’t break
How to prevent hydrangeas from breaking? The answer was provided in a recent recording by one of the gardeners active on Instagram. Ogrodnik.perfect revealed what to do to prevent tree hydrangea flowers from breaking. We often use special supports available in gardening stores. However, as the specialist said:
Forget about it, because it doesn’t work. Throw it away!
– This will be a different way. Maybe a little more difficult, but it really works – said the expert. – First, we lightly prune the tree hydrangea to make it easier to handle and install the net. Then we use galvanized mesh, which can be purchased at any supermarket. We place it above the hydrangea, making a semicircle 60-70 cm high, depending on how your hydrangea grows.
– The trick is that the tree hydrangea and its growing shoots will pass through these meshes. And the entire shoot, together with the flower, will no longer support itself alone, but will be based on this metal frame. Its height is crucial so that it is not too low – explained the gardener.
