Viburnums are quite tall shrubs that in spring are covered with beautiful, small flowers clustered in dense inflorescences, most often umbels or balls resembling hydrangeas. They are usually white, but there are pink varieties. They bloom in spring, from February to the end of June, then decorative fruits appear on most varieties, and in autumn their leaves change color beautifully. Thanks to this, they can be a great decoration of any garden almost all year round. Maja Popielarska takes advantage of their undoubted beauty.

Viburnums are one of the most important shrubs in my garden. They may not be stunning without flowers, but their openwork form is light and looks great, e.g. against the background of a wall […]. It beautifully illuminates the garden with its white balls

– she once wrote on Instagram. The journalist added that she chose the Burkwood variety (Burkwooda Viburnum×burkwoodii), the smell of which she absolutely loves. The garden also has, among others, Japanese. How to take care of these unique ones?

Where is the best place to plant viburnum? Remember this and it will delight you

Viburnum is not particularly difficult to grow, although its requirements may vary slightly depending on the variety. As a rule, however, they will all be able to handle each of them, but of course it is best to choose a place with fertile, moist and humus soil. The position itself should be sunny or partially shaded. However, it is worth being aware of the fact that less access to the sun will result in much weaker flowering. Don’t forget to water them regularly and prune them once a year. These simple treatments will make them grow thick and healthy. If you feel like it, vote in our poll below.
