Roses are probably one of the most iconic flowers loved by Poles. During the summer and early autumn months, their impressive blooms and distinct scent can transform the dullest garden into an oasis of peace. They are also relatively easy to maintain and can withstand grueling weather. However, with the arrival of spring, it is important that the flowers are properly cared for.

Experts say it’s important to prune roses correctly to help them keep next year’s flowers “as long as possible.” To do this, gardeners need to prune the spent flower stem back to a five-leaf leaf using a pair of clean pruners. This encourages the rose to strengthen its stem and gives more energy to the other flowers. Pruning roses and reducing their height will help the flowers when exposed to windy conditions.

Remember Cold Zośka. Frosts in May can destroy roses and other plants
Be sure to cover your roses closer to May 15.
