They closed the Temple of Divine Providence to make an American hit. They have to repay each other

The creators of the series decided that a famous Warsaw building would appear in the series. On Sunday, April 7 in the evening, work on the production will begin in the Temple of Divine Providence located in the Wilanów housing estate. The city’s inhabitants call the building a “lemon squeezer” due to its original shape.

– Stage design elements, mainly lights, are currently being installed. Three teams are working on the series – Polish, Czech and American. That’s a total of 500 people on the set – says Marek Drabik, representative of the management board of the Boże Providence Center, stacja7 portal. – The Temple of Divine Providence is one of several places in Poland where this American production is being shot – the series was also shot in Izabelin, the POLIN museum and the Polish History Museum – he adds.

Due to work on the series “Foundation”, the Temple of Divine Providence is closed from April 4 to 13. – The exception is the chapel of the Blessed Sacrament, where masses will be celebrated every day. However, you can only enter it from the outside – explains Drabik.

The consent to film the series in the temple was given for a reason. The film’s producers have reportedly promised to finance a green energy installation in the building, which will significantly reduce its heating costs.

– The series is set in the distant future and describes the fate of humanity after the catastrophe and the search for a new life. Just like our temple uniting people for the common purpose of building a community, the film vision corresponds to the presentation of the Temple as a place of refuge for people – says Marek Drabik. – Our church will be presented in a very positive way, showing the beauty of the building – he emphasizes.
