Rumeysa usually uses a wheelchair or a walker and is a programmer. She is also an active user of social media, where she willingly shares information about her disease.
The Turkish woman had to undergo serious surgery
Rumeysa was unable to walk as a child, It was only when she was about five years old, after undergoing two serious surgeries, that she began to use a walker. However, she still had problems, including: she couldn’t sit for too long. It was only when she underwent another surgery at the age of 17 that she began to function more efficiently.
She is the tallest woman in the world
Rumeysa Gelgi is 215.16 centimeters tall. Even as a six-year-old, she was shockingly tall – she measured 180 cm. Thanks to Weaver’s team, she entered the Guinness Book of Records several times. In addition to the above-mentioned height, she was recorded there as having the largest hands (circumference 24.93 cm), the longest fingers (11.2 cm) and the longest back (59.9 cm).
In the past, Rumeysa suffered greatly because of her differences. However, she has very supportive parents and thanks to them she has learned to treat her unusual appearance as something special.
