Why put egg shells in the washing machine? A strange but effective way
Egg shells are a product that most often ends up in the trash. Few people know that they can be used to whiten clothes and stains in the washing machine. Eggshells contain high concentrations of calcium carbonate, which is a natural bleach. Calcium helps break down particles that cause fabrics to darken. To use them in the washing machine:
- wash the shells thoroughly, dry them and grind them in a blender into a fine powder,
- then pour the powder into a cotton bag made of light fabric and tie it tightly together with the lemon slices,
- when washing, put the bag with egg shells in the washing machine drum,
- select a program with hot water (at least 60 degrees Celsius).
Unusual uses of eggshells. Clean pots and pans easily
Egg shells have the perfect consistency for removing food remains and dirt from pots and dishes that are difficult to clean. Just crush them, then add soap and water and start scrubbing. You can also pour them into a burnt pot, pour water over them and cook for a few minutes, stirring regularly with a wooden spoon in the meantime. This way, the dirt will come off the bottom.
