Filip Pławiak appeared in a new episode of the “WojewódzkiKędzierski” podcast, where, together with the hosts, he talked about the actor’s work, the issue of choosing roles and Marcin Koszałka’s film “White Courage”. The last topic aroused the most emotions, and a heated discussion broke out between Kuba Wojewódzki and the guest present in the studio.
The controversy surrounding “White Courage” was growing even before Marcin Koszałka’s film was even in the production phase. Leading Polish politicians argued about it, and the Institute of National Remembrance did not want to be associated with this type of project. There were even accusations that the production distorted the historical truth about what happened in Podhale during World War II.
Kuba Wojewódzki criticized the film with Filip Pławiak. He later apologized
During a conversation in the “WojewódzkiKędzierski” podcast, Kuba Wojewódzki admitted that “White Courage” is the first film with the actor’s participation that did not move him. “This film does not deliver. I don’t know what it is about. For me, it lacks plot clarity. I don’t know if it is the Podhale version of “Romeo and Juliet” or if it is a war morality play… This is the first film with you , which I didn’t experience. I had the impression that you were more interested in the climbing than in the story.” When the host finished speaking, there was an awkward silence in the studio. So Wojewódzki tried to lighten the mood: “I’m sorry if it’s too harsh.”
Filip Pławiak, who played the role of Jędrek in “White Courage”, one of the brothers and the main characters of this story, replied to the host’s accusations, stating that the film presents a huge range of emotions. “I don’t know what to tell you… I can contrast it with what I felt while watching this film. For me, it brings a lot of emotions. It allows me to experience a lot and doesn’t leave the viewer in peace after leaving the cinema. Maybe that’s why “is related to the fact that you had certain expectations towards this film,” he told Wojewódzki.
