In Denmark they called for the removal of Russian e-sportsmen from the CS2 tournament

The Minister of Culture of Denmark, Jakob Engel-Schmidt, spoke out against the participation of Russian cybersportsmen in tournaments. His words are quoted by TV2.

“As long as the conflict in Ukraine continues, I do not believe that Russian athletes should be allowed to participate in international competitions,” Engel-Schmidt said, calling for the suspension to be applied to esports as well. It is noted that 18 Russians as part of different teams are taking part in the Counter Strike 2 PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 tournament, which takes place from March 17 to 31.

Previously, two Russian Team Spirit players had to miss the BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2024 CS2 tournament in Denmark due to visa problems. Danil donk Kryshkovets and Boris magixx Vorobyov were unable to compete in the team.

In January, the International Esports Federation suspended its membership in the Russian Computer Sports Federation. The decision was made after a complaint from the Ukrainian side.
