Witold Paszt began his musical career in 1977 in the Victoria Singers group, in which he performed with Grzegorz Markowski. Just a year later, he founded Vox, a vocal quartet, which also included his cousin, Jerzy Słota, Andrzej Kozioł and Ryszard Rynkowski. The latter left the band in 1987. Paszt started his solo career much later, but he did not say goodbye to Vox.

Paszt and Vox prepared exceptionally carefully for their debut. For several months, the quartet worked diligently on the repertoire, collaborating with a choreographer, costume designer and even an English teacher. In 1979, they officially performed as Vox during the International Stage Spring in Poznań, where they played, among others, “But feeling” and “Lucy”. Great success came a year later with the song “Bananowy song”. Subsequent hits, albums selling hundreds of thousands of copies, concerts throughout Poland, but also in the GDR, Sweden, Czechoslovakia and for the Polish community in the USA and Canada were proof of the band’s huge success.
Vox also toured the USSR. They were the few, or in fact the only ones, who could sing there in English. – The audience went crazy about it. They reacted to us as if it were the ’60s and we were the Beatles. A fantastic country, fantastic people, but the local authorities were and are unacceptable – recalled Paszt in 2015.
On June 9, 2001, Witold Paszt released his first solo album, “Like the Sun”. He invited, among others, to work on the album: Jacek Bukowski, Robert Chojnacki and Seweryn Krajewski. Despite his solo career, he did not finish performing with the band and until 2022 he was the only member who had been in it from the very beginning. In 2021, he became a coach in the “” program. He sat as a juror in the second and third editions of the talent show.

I was there with a guitar, so I put the guitar on my back, took the girl in my arms and when I looked at her, I thought: “I won’t let you go anymore.” That girl turned out to be my wife, he recalled. they married six years later and were married for 43 years. They had two daughters. Natalia Paszt wanted to follow in her father’s footsteps and also start a musical career. – Dad talked me out of this idea. He kept saying that to be in this industry you need to have a hard ass – she admitted in the interview
– We had a very successful marriage. Hand on heart, I swear we’ve had two fights in our lives. And not very strongly – admitted Paszt in “Fakt”. His wife died in 2018. February 18 marks two years since the musician’s death. The news that the leader of the Vox band has died was reported by . Only a few months later, Natalia Paszt revealed the reason in “Pytanie na śnidanie”. – Three covids. He had a lot of plans and even greater ambitions. – I think I’ve been lucky in my life – he said in 2001 in an interview with Polish Radio. – I was lucky to have such a profession, I’m lucky to have such a family, a fantastic wife, two fantastic daughters. I’m happy, I don’t think I would want to change anything – added.
