Even the star cast didn’t help. Critics apologize for insulting other films: “the worst”, “cheap”

“Madame Web” enters cinemas on February 14, and in Poland the official premiere of the film is scheduled for two days later, but if we listen to the opinions on the Internet, the screening is not worth almost two hours of our time.

SJ Clarkson’s film is another adaptation of Marvel comics from Sony. It was here that the Venom series and the last, very criticized “Morbius” with Jared Leto were created. It is worth adding that these productions do not belong to the MCU (the universe in which we find Captain America, Iron Man or Thor).

“Madame Web” has entered cinemas. Critics are ruthless

The creators of the story chose an all-star cast. In the title role of Cassandra Webb, we will see Dakota Johnson, known from “Fifty Shades of Gray” and the 2018 film “Suspiria”. She is accompanied by the recently sought-after Sydney Sweeney, who gained popularity thanks to “Euphoria” and recently starred in the film “Reality” and the series “The White Lotus”. The production also stars Isabela Merced, Celeste O’Connor, Tahar Rahim and Emma Roberts.

Unfortunately, the first reviews of “Madame Web” do not encourage people to watch it. After the first press screenings, the production gained 22%. on the freshness scale according to critics on Rotten Tomatoes, after 24 hours the score decreased to 17.

After the screening of “Madame Web”, he apologized for offending another film. It could have been worse

“All logic and reason disappears as the film begins. The touching moments are laughably bad here,” writes Brandon Avery of Just My Opinion Reviews. “A clumsy, boring, unintentionally ridiculous mess that fails to grip, entertain or excite,” adds Avi Offer of NYC Movie Guru. Critics accuse the film of looking cheap, having script flaws and an illogical plot. They assure you that the screening is a waste of time.

“This is the worst Marvel movie ever made,” says Common Sense Media’s Christie Cronan. Also food for thought is the review by Barry Hertz from the National Post, who in his text about “Madame Web” apologized to another poorly rated Sony film. “I owe ‘Morbius’ an apology, it turned out that Sony simply needed more time and self-confidence to make an even worse movie,” writes the reviewer.
