The TVP Info journalist’s tattoos caused a sensation. But is this really true? [SONDA]

TVP Info has been broadcasting its new version for almost a month, and with each passing day there are subtle changes visible in the station’s program. One of the station’s new journalists is Karolina Opolska, who made her debut on the air, showing off her tattooed neck. Then there was a stir on the Internet, and we decided to check among Poles whether it actually makes sense to talk about it.

Changes in public media are widely commented on in every possible respect. The viewers’ attention did not escape the new faces on TVP, nor those who were visible on the air in the times of the so-called good change. An example would be .

However, so far the new TVP journalist who has been extremely loud is Karolina Opolska. Only not because of the conversations she had on the station, but because of the tattoos that decorate her neck. A discussion on this topic began on social media, in which there were both positive and negative opinions about the visibility of “girls” in the news program.

We decided to ask people walking around Warsaw to see for themselves whether this topic actually evokes such extreme opinions among society. Moreover, we saw , where he insists on stopping discussion on this topic, but our material was created a few days earlier and we are publishing it now with good intentions.

Among the people we met in Warsaw’s Śródmieście district, most people said directly that the visibility of the journalist’s neck tattoos at the news station did not bother them. They were people of different ages, and their arguments included many points of view.

A lot of people are getting tattoos at the moment. It’s downright art right now. It doesn’t matter to me. If she likes it and feels good about it… – said one of the passers-by

It doesn’t bother me at all. It seems to me that this does not affect the perception and competence of this person, said a woman I met.

Why would that bother me? It’s not the tattoos that give us information, it’s the person wearing them. (…) Maybe we should just normalize things like tattoos, says the interlocutor.

It doesn’t bother me at all. Everyone should have the tattoos they want. And anyone who wants to have them can. It doesn’t bother me at all that the presenter has them on TV. It certainly bothers older ladies a lot. Especially former viewers of TVP – says the young man.

Of course, we also managed to meet people who had a different opinion on this subject. One of the seniors said that young people simply look at it differently than older people. I took the liberty of disagreeing with this generalization because I know people much older than me who also do not mind visible tattoos in news programs.

In turn, one of the middle-aged men shared an accurate observation. – It doesn’t bother me. However, this has not been the case so far. Maybe people are so used to it that they simply don’t like it, he said. Another passer-by said he thought it was “a bit inappropriate.” – I saw her, so she’s professional. However, it slightly hurts my eyes, he concluded.
