“Snow Company”: There are eight survivors of the tragedy in the Andes who recorded special episodic roles in Juan Antonio Bayona’s film, which is in search of an Oscar

A total of 16 survived the plane crash that took place in the Andes in 1972. The story now returns to the minds of its real-life protagonists who are still living thanks to the film by Spaniard Juan Antonio Bayona “Snow Society” premiered on Netflix on January 4.

In the Spanish director’s production, the real names of the dead passengers were used as the first sign that the story should be told as closely as possible to the events that took place during the tragedy.

“Everything you have read, seen, from photos, magazines, books, even previous films, documentaries, after watching this film you will really know what happened there,” said survivor Nando Parrado in an interview quoted by Bayona on your Instagram account.

In addition to names and scenes based on real images, some of the survivors made special cameos in the film, as mentioned by Mag de the market.

Unlike the previous films inspired by the tragic event, as many as eight real protagonists appeared in “Snow Society”, and here we reveal to you who they are.

1. Roberto Canessa

At the time of the tragedy, he was 19 years old and was studying medicine in his second year. In the film, he briefly appears as a doctor who examines his own character at the hospital in Santiago de Chile, played by actor Matías Recalt, reminds ABC.

2. Fernando Parrado

He was part of the rugby team and was 22 years old. In “Snow Society” he appears as an extra in the airport scene where he opens the door to his young self.

3. Carlos Páez Rodríguez

One of the survivors was Carlitos Páez, a member of the rugby team who was 18 at the time.

According to the press review in the “Snow Company” he played Carlos Páez Vilaróhis own father who never lost hope and in the film is the one who announces the names of the survivors on the phone.
