Frozen window inside the car? Just one thing is enough to thaw it quickly

A frozen windshield inside the car is a real nightmare for many drivers. As soon as the temperature drops below zero, they not only have to scrape the windows from the outside, but also take care of them from the inside. How to deal with this?

A frozen windshield inside the car is not one of drivers’ favorite sights. Especially when we are in a hurry, the thought of defrosting the windows does not bring a smile to our face. How to go about it? Will a scraper or liquid window defroster work?

Frozen window inside the car – scraper or liquid defroster?

If you happen to have a frozen window inside your car, it is not the best idea to use either a scraper or a defroster. The former is difficult to use from the inside and may scratch the glass. The second option will result in stains that are difficult to remove. Additionally, the liquid may get into the car electronics and damage them. In both cases, we may be exposed to unnecessary costs related to repairing electronics or replacing the glass.

A frozen windshield inside the car will defrost most effectively if we simply warm the car. Sometimes it takes a good dozen or so minutes, but you can help yourself. To make it happen faster, turn on the internal air circulation, set the temperature to maximum and direct the air vents upwards, towards the glass.

Why does the window freeze from the inside?

In the future, it is worth knowing why the windshield freezes from the inside. Of course, water is to blame for this, which means that our car is simply too humid. Especially in winter, when we get inside with snow-covered shoes and jackets, excess water cannot escape. To counteract this, it is worth brushing off the snow thoroughly.

A moisture absorber for your car is something that is always worth having inside. Additionally, you should ensure that your car is properly ventilated whenever possible. This can be done as standard on a dry and sunny day by opening the car door in the parking lot. Another option is to turn on the hot air while driving and slightly open the windows. You should also check the seals and the cabin filter – if they are neglected and dirty, they will contribute to collecting moisture in the interior.
