How to stimulate the intestines to work? 7 ways by Ewa Chodakowska
Ewa Chodakowska is the most popular trainer in our country and for over 10 years she has been encouraging Polish women to change their lifestyle and take care of their health and physical fitness. The “trainer of all Polish women” regularly shares her knowledge and various tips on her social media. In one of her Facebook posts, she revealed several ways to take care of your intestines to stimulate them to work.
- Drink adequate amounts of water! Your intestines need it, among other things, to properly carry out digestion processes.
- Include fermented foods in your diet, such as pickles, kefir, beetroot sourdough, kimchi – superfoods for your intestinal microbiome.
- Drink an espresso. If you suffer from constipation, drinking a “little black tea” can be very helpful! Not only will it provide you with health-promoting polyphenols, but in a large group of people it also contributes to the acceleration of intestinal peristalsis.
- Eat foods rich in fiber. Don’t skimp on vegetables and fruit and choose whole grain products. Fiber is a kind of “broom” that helps your intestines cleanse and stimulates them to work.
- Include prune compote in your diet. They are a source of sorbitol, which also speeds up intestinal function and is therefore recommended for constipation.
- Eat regularly and do not fast. Try to include at least 3 meals in your daily schedule. Remember, however, that breaks between meals are also important, avoid constant snacking.
- Be active! Movement will stimulate your intestines to work. Even if you have a sedentary job, try to take a break from time to time, and in your free time do at least a short workout or go for a walk.
