A sentence of 13 years and five months in prison kept former Paralympian Oscar Pistorius behind bars after the verdict for the murder of the girl Reeva Steenkamp in February 2013, he was released on parole on January 5, 2024.

“You will not be able to consume alcohol or other substances. (…) Like other people on parole, Pistorius is prohibited from giving interviews to the media,” said the media, in addition to completing anger management therapy and a program on gender violence.
Oscar Pistorius was convicted after murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in the early hours of February 14, 2013 at her home in Pretoria.
